Dental, vision and hearing coverage Medicare leaves out
Cleanings, fillings, crowns, dentures, glasses and hearing aids add up quickly. A standalone plan can make them predictable again.

What these plans cover
Original Medicare generally does not pay for routine dental care, eyeglasses or hearing aids. Some Medicare Advantage plans include limited allowances, but the yearly maximum is often smaller than a single crown or a pair of hearing aids.
A standalone dental, vision and hearing plan is designed to fill that gap. Coverage is usually organized in tiers: preventive care such as exams, cleanings and x-rays; basic care such as fillings and extractions; and major care such as crowns, bridges, root canals and dentures. Many plans add a vision exam with an eyewear allowance and a hearing exam with a hearing aid benefit.
The details that matter most are the annual maximum, whether there are waiting periods before major work is covered, whether you can keep your current dentist, and how the plan pays. We compare those items across carriers before you enroll.
