Long Term Care Insurance
Plan for care on your terms — and protect what you've saved
Medicare covers short-term skilled care, not long-term help with daily living. Long term care coverage fills that gap so your family isn't forced to choose between care and savings.

Why long term care planning matters
Long term care means help with everyday activities — bathing, dressing, eating, moving around, managing medications. It can be delivered at home by an aide, in an adult day program, in assisted living, or in a nursing home.
This is the part most people are surprised by: Medicare pays for limited skilled nursing or rehabilitation after a qualifying hospital stay, but it does not pay for ongoing custodial care. Families typically cover it out of pocket, or spend down assets until Medicaid takes over.
A long term care policy pays a daily or monthly benefit toward that care. Newer hybrid options combine long term care benefits with life insurance, so if you never need care, a benefit still passes to your family instead of the premiums being lost.
Premiums are based largely on age and health, so this is coverage where planning a few years earlier makes a real financial difference.
